The company behind the cars
BlackCarLivery.Services is a Toronto operator, not a marketplace. The vehicles are ours, the chauffeurs are on our payroll, the reservation desk is in the city, and the memberships that let you check all of that are public.
Licensing
Chapter 546, in full
Vehicles and chauffeurs are licensed under Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 546, the vehicle-for-hire bylaw, which sets the owner and driver licences, the insurance minimums, the inspection cycle and the record keeping. Certificates are supplied to corporate and livery accounts on request.

Employees, screened and trained
Every chauffeur is an employee: background-checked, licensed for the vehicle class, uniformed, and trained by us on the airports, the venues and the standard of quiet a client is entitled to. No app drivers and no subcontracting inside Ontario.
Fleet
New, black, unbadged
Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Sprinters in two layouts and stretch limousines, all current-generation and retired before they look otherwise. Coaches for large movements come through the network.

People who can see the dispatch board
The reservation line is staffed around the clock by people in Toronto who can see where every vehicle is. That is the difference between a company that says it is open 24 hours and one that is: a call at three in the morning about a flight that landed early reaches someone who can move the chauffeur, not a voicemail.
Corporate and livery accounts have a named coordinator on a direct line. Weddings and proms have one for the day. Everyone else has the desk.

The logo
Oxblood, champagne and a silhouette
The mark is a stylised sedan silhouette inside a champagne ring on an oxblood disc, with the initials BCL. It appears in the header and footer and on the greeting cards chauffeurs carry when a client asks for our name rather than their own.
