What does "black car livery" actually mean?
Livery is the trade term for a licensed, pre-arranged chauffeured vehicle, as distinct from a taxi hailed on the street or a rideshare summoned through an app. A black car livery service is one whose vehicles are black, unmarked, commercially insured and driven by employed chauffeurs, and whose fares are agreed before the journey rather than metered during it. That is what every page on this site describes.
Which vehicles are in the fleet?
Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedans, Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV SUVs, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans in executive and shuttle layouts, and stretch limousines. All are black, all are current-generation vehicles. Mini coaches and full-size motor coaches are supplied through partner operators when a group outgrows two Sprinters.
How far ahead do I need to book?
Airport and point-to-point transfers inside the Greater Toronto Area can usually be confirmed the same day, subject to vehicle availability. Hourly bookings, Niagara day trips and anything involving a Sprinter or stretch limousine are best reserved at least 48 hours ahead. Weddings, proms, holiday weekends and the FIFA World Cup 2026 match days sell out weeks in advance and should be booked as soon as the date is fixed.
How long will the chauffeur wait at the airport?
Sixty minutes after a domestic arrival and ninety minutes after an international one are included, measured from the aircraft landing rather than from the scheduled time. Beyond that, waiting is charged in fifteen-minute steps at the hourly rate for the vehicle class. Give us the flight number and delays simply move the chauffeur.
Where will I find the chauffeur at Pearson?
Terminal 1 arrivals are met at the exit from the customs hall on Level 1, Terminal 3 at the arrivals level by the Tim Hortons, unless you ask for a curbside pickup, in which case the chauffeur calls once you have your bags and meets you at the departures-level limo zone. The confirmation email names the exact spot.
Is the fare fixed, or does it change with traffic?
Transfers are quoted as a fixed all-in fare for the journey. Traffic, weather and road closures are our problem, not a surcharge. Hourly bookings are billed for the hours reserved plus any extension you ask for on the day, at the same hourly rate.
What is the hourly minimum?
Three hours for sedans and SUVs, five hours for stretch limousines and Sprinters. Travel time from the garage to the first pickup and back from the last drop is charged for the stretch and Sprinter classes only, and is shown on the quote before you confirm.
Can I book a chauffeur for a whole day or a whole week?
Yes. The private chauffeur service assigns one chauffeur and one vehicle to you for a day, a week or a season. Daily and weekly rates are lower per hour than the standard hourly rate, and the same chauffeur is kept on your booking wherever possible.
Do you serve Niagara Falls and the wineries?
Daily. Toronto to the Falls is a ninety-minute run in normal traffic, and most clients book a six- to eight-hour hourly block that covers the Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake and two or three wineries. We also run Buffalo Niagara International Airport transfers across the Peace Bridge and Lewiston-Queenston crossings.
Are gratuities included?
A standard gratuity is built into every quote so the chauffeur is never left waiting on a tip and you are never left calculating one. Anything extra you choose to give is entirely at your discretion and goes to the chauffeur in full.
What is the cancellation policy?
Sedan and SUV transfers cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before pickup. Sprinter, stretch limousine and hourly bookings need 72 hours. Weddings, proms, holidays and major events are confirmed with a deposit that becomes non-refundable 30 days before the date. The full schedule is on the cancellation policy page.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard and American Express through the online booker, corporate accounts on monthly invoice, and e-transfer for deposits on event bookings. Cash is accepted for gratuities only.
Can a hotel or travel agency book on behalf of a guest?
That is the livery services page in a sentence. Hotels, agencies, destination management companies and executive assistants book under their own account, the guest sees an unbranded black car and a chauffeur who knows the agency's name, and the invoice goes to the account holder at month end.
Do you provide child seats?
Rear-facing infant seats, forward-facing toddler seats and boosters are available in the SUVs and Sprinters at no charge when requested at booking. Ontario law requires them for children under eight, and the chauffeur will not depart without one fitted.
Is smoking or vaping allowed?
No, in any vehicle. A detailing charge applies if it happens.
Can I bring alcohol in the vehicle?
Open alcohol is permitted in the stretch limousine and in Sprinters with a partition, for passengers of legal age, under Ontario's rules for licensed limousines. It is not permitted in sedans or SUVs.
What happens if the vehicle breaks down?
A replacement vehicle of the same or higher class is dispatched from our own fleet inside the GTA. On the rare occasion that would make you late, the dispatcher tells you and the fare is reduced or refunded.
Do you run cross-border trips into the United States?
Buffalo, Niagara Falls NY, Detroit and New York State are regular routes. Passengers need their own travel documents; the chauffeur carries the vehicle's commercial documentation and knows which crossing is quicker at that hour.
How is a corporate account different from booking online?
An account adds traveller profiles, cost-centre coding, monthly invoicing, a named coordinator and negotiated rates for volume. The vehicles and chauffeurs are the same.
Are you licensed by the City of Toronto?
Yes. Our vehicles are licensed under Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 546, the vehicle-for-hire bylaw, and our chauffeurs hold the required licences. Copies are available to corporate and livery clients on request.
What is Limousine Worldwide Directory membership?
LimousineWorldwide.Directory is the international register of chauffeur and limousine operators, and our listing there lets any client verify that the company behind this site is real, licensed and current. We are also members of Limousine Association International, whose affiliate network carries our bookings outside Ontario.
Can you arrange flights and hotels as well as the car?
Our travel desk runs on BookingWorldwide.net for flights, hotels, resorts, activities, packages and car rental. The advantage is that the ground transport is timed against a confirmed itinerary rather than an estimate.
Do you provide service outside Toronto?
Southern Ontario is covered by our own vehicles. Everywhere else, bookings are fulfilled by Limousine Association International affiliates we have vetted, and you still book, pay and get support through us.
How do I get a quote?
Enter the pickup and destination in the booker at the top of any page for a fixed fare in seconds. For hourly, multi-vehicle or multi-day bookings, call the reservation line or use the contact page and a coordinator replies with a written quote.
